Diversity Assessment Scale
This assessment tool will provide the organization a means to learn about employees' views and experiences of current policies and practices. The section on corporate and personal actions for change provides specific recommendations from participants that will assist the organization to move forward in promoting human diversity as a corporate value.
Participants will complete each of the following four sections:
Section A: Transitional Stages-Reviewing a description of the six transitional stages (exclusive, denial, resistance, taken, acceptance, inclusive) participants select the one that best describes the organization as it relates to valuing diversity.
Section B: Corporate Climate-Using the scoring scale participants will respond to each of the fifteen statements based on their beliefs and experiences as it relates to valuing diversity.
Section C: Personal Actions & Beliefs- Using the scoring scale participants will respond to each of the fifteen statements that best describe their personal beliefs and experiences in relation to diversity and the organization.
Corporate and Personal Actions for Change-Entering the scores, participants review an interpretation of the score. Recording their recommendations on pressure sensitive paper so that they can retain a copy for their personal record, participant's list corporate and personal actions that will demonstrate a commitment to valuing diversity.
